Dear Resident, Last week, PCs Appleyard & Firth from Rural NPT conducted a traffic operation covering several locations in their NPT area including Walton Lane & Barnsley Road, Sandal, and Old Road, Middlestown.
Three drivers were found to be driving in excess of the 30mph speed limits; one driver was doing 42mph on Walton Lane, and two were observed on Barnsley Road doing 43mph and 46mph. All three drivers were reported for the offence and traffic offence reports were issued.
We also noted that these drivers had young passengers in their vehicles, putting not only themselves and other road users at risk, but also the youngsters in their care. We would like to take this opportunity to remind motorists to drive safely and in accordance with the speed limits, speeding takes lives and next time, it might cost more than a ticket. |
